mate to mate fit club

 

An important part of 100words mate to mate is encouraging guys to connect more with their mates, dads, brothers…all the good blokes in their lives! And because physical health is a big part of looking after mental health, we have launched mate to mate fit club!

So how does it work and how can you be part of it?

Mate to mate fit club is about getting blokes moving, and because blokes love a challenge….using Strava to connect and challenge each other to work on physical health! We’ve created mate to mate fit club on Strava and you can sign up (it’s free!) and be a part of it.

One of the ways you can do this is to schedule a weekly walk on a Wednesdayat 8am with your mates to stay fit, active and connected. If this doesn’t work….find a time and put out the call.If your mates aren’t available, do it anyway and call them for a chat as you pound the pavement! You can walk, run or ride…and the fit club will record your workouts so you can keep your mates accountable, and they can keep you accountable!

Simply sign up to Strava (it’s free) and go to our club events….let people know you’re in the weekly Wednesday Walk event, then share it with a mate to join you for a regular walk in your local area. If you can’t make it in person then find another time to walk and call at mate to have a chat while you walk.

There is also a discussion feature where blokes can post where they are doing local walks if they want company…. for example ‘Hi all - I’m walking on Wednesday at Wattle Park at 8am - if you want to join me for a walk and a chat feel free’
